Aleksandra Bavdaz is an academic in the International Business cluster at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, where she also serves as an Honours Convener. She is a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE) and a reviewer for leading entrepreneurship journals, including the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Research (3 star, ABS) and the Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship.
Her work sits at the intersection of entrepreneurship, venture creation, and education, combining academic research with practical engagement in venture development. Her research explores how entrepreneurial capabilities are developed, enacted, and taught across diverse organisational and socio-economic contexts.
A central focus of her work is authentic leadership pedagogy, an innovative and experiential approach developed from within the entrepreneurship discipline and aligned with university strategies for knowledge development and student experience enhancement in higher education. This work incorporates a strong emphasis on inclusive learning and widening participation, including the role of gender dynamics in shaping participation, engagement, and leadership development in the classroom. She is particularly interested in its role in supporting meaningful knowledge development and preparing students for future careers in entrepreneurship. Through this approach, she integrates mentorship, relational transparency, values and ethics, and the intentional creation of classroom cultures that enable students to actively engage, build confidence, and shape their own professional pathways. This is particularly important in today’s increasingly diverse and volatile environments.
Alongside her academic work, Aleksandra is actively engaged in global venture formation and strategic development at the intersection of policy, sustainability, and deep technology. She is committed to cross border academic collaboration, working with international partners, including the British University in Cairo, to support student mobility, joint teaching, and collaborative research. Her work brings together academia and industry to address socio economic challenges through entrepreneurship led innovation.
