Who we are

Wonkhe is published by Thesis House Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08784934) with its registered office at 5 Technology Park, Colindeep Lane, Colindale, London NW9 6BX. Our correspondence address is 31–35 Kirby Street, London EC1N 8TE. Thesis House Ltd was previously known as Wonkhe Ltd; any reference to Wonkhe Ltd in older material should be read as a reference to Thesis House Ltd.

These terms apply to wonkhe.com and to the other websites operated by Thesis House Ltd, including those of Research Agenda, The Post-18 Project and Policy Partners, wherever they link to these terms (together, “our sites”). By using our sites you accept these terms. They take effect from the date you first use our sites. If you do not agree with them, please do not use our sites.

Other terms that may apply

These terms cover general use of our sites. Separate terms apply to:

• Paid subscriptions (including Wonkhe Pass, Wonkhe SUs, HE Counsel and other subscription services) – these are governed by the subscription agreement between Thesis House Ltd and the subscribing organisation.
• Event bookings – these are governed by the booking terms shown at the point of booking.
• Your personal data – see our privacy policy.
• Comments – see our moderation policy.

If there is any conflict between these terms and a subscription agreement or event booking terms, the more specific terms take priority.

Using our sites

You agree to use our sites only for lawful purposes, and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict anyone else’s use and enjoyment of them. In particular, you must not:

• post or transmit anything unlawful, defamatory, obscene, threatening, harassing or otherwise objectionable, or anything that encourages conduct that would be a criminal offence or give rise to civil liability;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our sites, our systems, or any account other than your own;
• introduce viruses, malware or other harmful code;
• use automated tools to scrape, crawl, harvest or extract content or data from our sites, except as expressly permitted below or by us in writing;
• interfere with or disrupt the normal operation of our sites.

We will co-operate fully with law enforcement authorities or any court order requiring us to disclose the identity or location of anyone posting material in breach of these terms.

Accounts and passwords

Some parts of our sites require a login. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for everything done under your account. Logins provided under an organisational subscription are personal to the named user and must not be shared. Tell us immediately at team@wonkhe.com if you think your account has been compromised. We may suspend or close accounts that are used in breach of these terms or of an applicable subscription agreement.

Copyright and intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the material on our sites – including text, data, graphics, logos, audio and video – is owned by or licensed to Thesis House Ltd and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may view, download and print material from our sites for your own personal or internal organisational use, provided you keep all copyright and proprietary notices intact and acknowledge Wonkhe as the source. You must not otherwise reproduce, republish, distribute, sell or commercially exploit our content without our prior written permission. Requests for permission or syndication should go to team@wonkhe.com.

Content published by government bodies is generally subject to Crown copyright and is usually available under the Open Government Licence.

Text and data mining and AI training

We expressly reserve our rights in relation to text and data mining, including under Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790 and any equivalent provision in UK law. You must not use any content from our sites, in whole or in part, to train, fine-tune, test or improve any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, or to build any dataset for those purposes, without our prior written consent. This applies whether access is by automated means or otherwise.

Trade marks

WONKHE, THESIS HOUSE, RESEARCH AGENDA, POLICY PARTNERS and THE POST-18 PROJECT, and the associated logos, are trade marks of Thesis House Ltd. You must not use them without our written permission.

User-generated content

Material you submit to our sites (such as comments) remains your copyright. By submitting it, you grant Thesis House Ltd a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to reproduce, edit, publish and distribute it in any medium. You remain free to reuse your own material elsewhere. You may not reproduce other users’ submitted material without their explicit permission.

You are responsible for anything you submit. Please read our moderation policy before commenting.

Links to external websites

Our sites contain links to other websites that are not under our control. We are not responsible for the content or availability of any linked site, and a link should not be taken as an endorsement of any kind.

Disclaimer

Our sites contain content contributed by a wide range of individuals and organisations. Opinions expressed in contributed articles and comments are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of Thesis House Ltd or its staff.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
