Rob Summers is a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Life and Health Sciences at Aston University. He is an experienced experimental psychologist who is now enjoying applying his statistics and research methods expertise to improve the student experience. He has recently led work using Aston University’s learning analytics system to investigate the relationship between measures of deprivation and the effects on student engagement by the move to online learning. He is also currently part of a multi-centre team funded by TASO (Transforming Access and Student Outcomes) conducting a randomised control trial to evaluate the effectiveness of university-led widening participation programmes on progression to HE.
