The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Executive Business Manager to support the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tim Blackman, with his responsibilities as Chief Academic and Administrative Officer of the University. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the UK’s largest university in a demanding, wide-ranging and highly rewarding role, requiring the experience and ability to understand and assist with the Vice-Chancellor’s day-to-day duties ensuring his time, expertise and authority can best be deployed in the context of many competing demands. From routine diary management to complex tasks, attending events and working on special projects, the successful candidate will need to be able to navigate a varied workload, building strong relationships and a thorough understanding of the internal and external context the Vice-Chancellor works in.

Skills and experience
We are looking for a loyal and trustworthy individual who is inspired by our mission and committed to enabling the Vice-Chancellor to perform and achieve at his best so that the OU is well led and continues to flourish for its staff, students and many stakeholders. This will require you to be highly organised, efficient, proactive with the ability to work autonomously and whilst exercising superb attention to detail, diplomacy and influencing skills.
