How universities are deploying technology to achieve their ambitions for student success

Recording

In education, technology adoption can sometimes be portrayed as a contest between forward-thinkers and modern-day Luddites. Educators’ “failure to keep up” or worry about being “left behind” positions technology as the agent of change in learning and teaching and educators as being at the mercy of forces that are out of their control. This way of thinking does a disservice to the intelligence of those making thoughtful decisions about how best to deploy technology in the service of improving learning and teaching.

This event drew upon research conducted by Wonkhe and Kortext on educators’ views of digitally enabled learning and teaching, and reflections from higher education leaders on how their university communities are responding to the possibilities of education technologies to enable their student success strategies. We explored the role of co-creation in technology adoption, and how universities and technology providers can work productively together to build the best possible student learning experience.

Hosted by Wonkhe editor Debbie McVitty with Kortext co-founder and chief executive James Gray, Jisc head of learning and teaching transformation Sarah Knight, and University of Derby Provost – learning and teaching, Keith McLay.
