Growing sustainability for the next generation

Wonkhe and Salesforce are partnering to deliver a free online event series in 2023 to address the critical question of building a more sustainable future for higher education.

Environmental, financial and educational challenges are central to the future of society and the sector. Nationally there are pressing questions of financial security for universities, and internationally we are seeing a rising wave of concern and action in response to the sustainability of the planet. Through this webinar series, we will bring together thought leaders, higher education partners and consider solutions which will help higher education build a more sustainable future.

Session 2: Building a more sustainable environmental future

2.00pm – 3.00pm | Thursday 30 March 2023

There isn’t a bigger challenge facing us than the future of our planet. From the agreements of the COP summits through to the action of protest groups there is a growing emphasis on the challenge ahead and different views about the extent to which we are taking the required action or not.

There is a central role for the higher education sector in helping us both understand and deal with the challenge of climate change. This session sought to understand what higher education is doing already, what more can be done and what support is on offer to institutions. Presented by Wonkhe’s Aaron Porter, with special guests Judith Petts (Vice-Chancellor, Plymouth University), Fiona Goodwin (EAUC) and Jean Pembleton (Salesforce).
