Paul Greatrix is Registrar at The University of Nottingham, author and creator of Registrarism and a Contributing Editor of Wonkhe.

Exciting news for fans of True Crime on Campus. We are delighted to announce that this autumn sees publication of the first ever True Crime on Campus book.

The book, very competitively priced for Christmas, brings together some of the very best of True Crime on Campus as published on Wonkhe’s Registrarism blog – including the favourites voted for by readers – together with some previously unpublished security reports.

For those unfamiliar with the genre it, all started with collecting highlights from the daily Campus Security Reports from the University of Nottingham. I started publishing the best ones on my Registrarism blog under the title True Crime on Campus, which then joined Wonkhe in 2014. Quite a few years and some 50 selections of campus crime reports later the series seems still to be going strong.

Year in, year out, our outstanding security staff have had to cope with a huge number of challenging situations, the best of which have been recorded here in True Crime on Campus. Of course they deal with much more than these highlights including everything from crime prevention to car parking and from lost property to university card management. Similar services are performed by security teams at universities and colleges across the country. All of us who work in higher education have much to be thankful to them for.

REAL Security at Nottingham

True Crime on Campus (the book) will be formally launched at Wonkfest in November. It will be available to order online in the near future. And with features such as these…

Beasts of UoN
People do the strangest things
Sporting chances
Uh oh!
Trapped
The unexplained
Very bad behaviour
Hide and seek

…you really won’t want to miss the campus-focused criminal incident publication of the year.

For anyone who has enjoyed True Crime on Campus over the years this exciting paper-based product (book) will be something to read when you are trying desperately to avoid being online.

Half of any profits from the sale of this book will be given to support the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre at the University of Nottingham to create a brighter future for children with brain tumours. You can find out more about the work of the Centre here.

Next up, True Crime on Campus: The Movie (plus, with any luck, the hideously expensive to produce Netflix mini-series).
