The Strategic Planning and Projects team is seeking a proactive and motivated Planning and Insight Manager to take a lead role in enhancing the data capabilities of the university to help drive the delivery of institution-wide reporting, improved performance and insight to guide university level decision making. The university is embarking on a new University Strategy and this role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced analyst seeking a role that is at the heart of university improvement.

The role holder will be responsible for producing high quality reports on the student journey from application to graduate outcome with particular focus on providing insights on the metrics that contribute to Goldsmiths Teaching Excellence and Student Outcome Framework (TEF). The role holder will also oversee work to help shape the business requirements for developing a data warehouse.
In order to do this, we are looking for someone who is:

– experienced in working with large sets of data to produce clear and concise analytical reports for committees and senior staff
– highly numerate and has the ability to think creatively to explore a range of solutions to problems, with the confidence to challenge existing understanding and practice and offer alternative perspectives
– knowledgeable in understanding the importance of management information and its role in supporting decision making
– a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a range of colleagues, including senior management

The role is full-time and permanent. The salary range is £44,085 to £50,595 per annum inclusive of London Weighting Allowance. Benefits include 28 days annual leave and university closure days at Christmas and Easter, a defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan. The Strategic Planning and Projects team have recently moved in to a brand new purpose built administration building a few steps from New Cross Gate station.
