The Academic Practice Directorate (APD) works across the university to engage and support our academic communities in the design and delivery of outstanding programmes and outstanding academic practice.
About the Role
The new Associate Director of Academic Practice will join a growing team, providing expert leadership, advice and support for learning and teaching enhancement activities. As well as leading and contributing to cross-University strategic projects and programmes, our Associate Directors are hands-on: providing operational support for academic staff and students through team development events (generic and bespoke) and mentoring and coaching activities.
About You
You will be an established leader with a proven track record of programme-level curricular development and innovation, extensive experience of working with and leading programme teams and a sustained record of engagement in scholarship and enquiry in a relevant area of practice. Experienced at working with staff and students at all levels within a University setting, you will have the negotiation, facilitation, coaching and mentoring skills to make our strategic priorities a reality across the institution.
First stage Skype interviews are scheduled to take place on 25 June 2018. Following this, shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview at UWE’s Frenchay Campus on 10 July 2018.
You will have:-
Essential
1. Senior or Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (or a demonstrable track record of impact and achievements that would ensure a successful claim for Senior or Principal Fellow within 1 year of appointment).
2. A higher degree in a relevant subject area.
Desirable
1. A recognised higher education teaching qualification.
