Design strategy, create a vision, build a team, deliver solutions – lead our investment in digital education central to our unique mission.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, forward thinking candidate to take up this newly created role. This is part of a concerted investment in our student experience for which a new role of Head of Education Strategy is also currently being recruited
We provide educational opportunities to those who are frequently unable to pursue courses of Higher Education elsewhere in the UK sector – our delivery model seeks to enable students to combine study with careers and caring responsibilities. Of course, by their nature, these responsibilities inevitably cause some students to find it harder than others to maintain progress towards their educational goals.
Whilst we are proud of the life changing opportunities afforded by our delivery model and we are keen to take any and all steps that could allow students to maintain academic progress even when life events outside their control threaten to derail them. We believe educational technology has a part to play in this effort.
We are also keen to exploit the potential for educational technology to support our targets to increase student numbers – both through facilitating study through a blend of face to face and distance methods – but also by allowing us to provide bite sized taster opportunities to prospective students.
Our Digital Education team is being formed from a mixture of existing roles and new investments. While initially small, we expect that success in this area will lead to opportunities to expand it over time. The precise structure of the team and the definitions of the roles within it are not set. You can help us shape the future.
If you are experienced in the use of modern digital technologies and their pedagogic use in the support and delivery of teaching and learning in universities, have a clear vision for how this can be put into practise combined with strong technical skills, are a savvy communicator, and an innovative manager who wants to build a team at the heart of an institution preparing for its 200th anniversary – this is the role for you.
