Gemma Peacock is a Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes at the University of Reading, where she holds academic leadership roles including module convenorship and contributes to foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate provision.

She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a doctoral researcher exploring EAP practitioners’ career trajectories and professional identity in UK higher education. Her professional interests include academic literacies, inclusive approaches to academic writing development, and widening participation for international students, alongside the structural and policy conditions shaping pathway and EAP provision. She serves on the editorial board of InForm journal, is an Associate Fellow of BALEAP, and co-organises events for BALEAP’s EAP for Social Justice Special Interest Group.
