Pro Warden Academic

30th May 2022

Goldsmiths, University of London is a world-leading centre of educational excellence where ground-breaking research meets innovative teaching and thinking.

We’re looking for inspiring and talented people to help build on our global reputation while also growing personally in a true learning organisation. Operating as a key member of Goldsmiths’ Senior Management Team, the Pro Warden Academic is responsible for providing outstanding guidance and direction across the institution in academic matters encompassing academic development, learning and teaching, student experience, and academic staff progression and development.

You will have overall responsibility for academic and curriculum development across Goldsmiths ensuring that our courses equip our academically, socially and culturally diverse body of students to address and navigate contemporary real-world issues.  Specifically, you will lead the development and implementation of our Learning & Teaching Strategy, line manage a number of specialist functions, chair institutional committees relevant to the portfolio and lead the academic liaison with Goldsmiths’ Students Union.

A resilient and inclusive leader with an understanding of, and empathy for, the dynamics of a research-intensive institution with high levels of personal commitment to Goldsmiths’ Mission and Values, you will bring experience of successfully leading impactful academic initiatives and management of change within highly unionised complex organisations. You will have highly developed stakeholder management and influencing skills and a proven ability to command the confidence of the academic and broader community.

Goldsmiths is currently going through a large transformation programme, encompassing a review of our academic portfolio and the implementation of a revised blueprint for the delivery of professional services. Our aim is to ensure a future for Goldsmiths which is academically vibrant and financially sustainable.  As our new Pro Warden Academic, your role will be fundamental to our ongoing transformation and the wider university strategy.
