The Director of Libraries is a key appointment at the University of Nottingham. Setting out the strategic direction of the department, you will be responsible for effective management of approximately 220 staff and a budget of over £14 million. Tasked with creating a learning environment that is consistent with a world-class university, you will be a keen strategist and effective leader and manager with experience developing policies, systems, collections and services. A member of numerous University Committees and Boards and the Registrar’s senior team; you will be actively involved in organisation-wide strategy and policy development and will be required to operate at a strategic level across the University.
You will have extensive relevant experience managing a large and complex team within a comparable environment and have excellent leadership and management skills (including strategic planning, financial and project management). You will also have proven experience in cultivating digital learning and innovation and experience promoting excellent customer service.
