Paul Greatrix is Registrar at The University of Nottingham, author and creator of Registrarism and a Contributing Editor of Wonkhe.

I was very taken by this thread of pictures on Twitter which deployed entertaining anagrams from James Bond movie titles.

Whilst I couldn’t come up with anything anywhere as near as amusing as this it did suggest the idea of another quiz. With apologies to everyone still recovering from the African universities picture quiz, here is your great big Wonkhe university anagram challenge.

In this university anagram challenge all 15 of these are UK universities. None of them includes the word ‘university’ but one does have an alternative institutional title included. How many can you get? (And really there is nothing to be gained by using an online anagram solver – you’re only cheating yourself.)

1 Tonight man

2 Bap hats

3 Hamming rib

4 Tong or border

5 Peel me garlic oil

6 Asking urinal

7 Best prosthesis ego

8 Swarthy byte

9 Ham paraders

10 Hip bearing under

11 Hustle groceries

12 Conflated swots

13 Bathing mimicry

14 Elms had half life

15 Hmm journal typo

How many did you get? Post your time to get all 15 in the chat below if you are feeling particularly confident. You can find all the answers here.

Good luck and no cheating.
