City’s new President, Professor Anthony Finkelstein, is reshaping City’s Senior Leadership Team to devise and deliver a fresh strategy for the University. Elected on the platform of leading a distinctive, self-confident and aligned City, this is a period of exciting change and transformation. The Chief Operating Officer is being recruited to offer a critical and engaging voice in this process and to play a key role in the development and delivery of the fresh strategy.

Reporting to the President, the Chief Operating Officer is the Head of Professional Services and will lead a large and broad portfolio, enabling services and driving change, efficiency and effectiveness. The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the strategic alignment of all Professional Services, ensuring the Professional Services Directorates work collectively to support and deliver City’s strategic and operational plans. The Chief Operating Officer should have a sophisticated understanding of City’s finances and be able to operate as a partner to the Chief Financial Officer, as well as the other members of the Senior Leadership Team.

As a key member of the President’s Senior Leadership Team, the Chief Operating Officer will work closely with the Deputy President and other senior leaders to shape and deliver City’s strategic and operational objectives, with a focus on ensuring the future sustainability and effectiveness of the University.
