Dilly Fung

Dilly Fung is an Emeritus Professor and a higher education consultant, having recently retired from her role of Pro-Director (Vice President) for Education at LSE.

Dilly was previously Professor of Higher Education Development at UCL, where she published her internationally recognised book A Connected Curriculum for Higher Education, which addresses the unity of research and teaching in curriculum design. Her expertise is predominantly qualitative, using case-studies; it addresses connections between research, learning, strategic leadership and quality enhancement. In her earlier career Dilly worked for 10 years in Further and Adult Education, including running HE in FE programmes, and taught for the Open University.

Dilly has been on the Teaching Excellence Framework panel from its inception. She wrote two independent TEF-related reports for the OfS in 2024, including one on higher education providers’ approaches to strategic quality improvements.
