About the Job

Fixed Term: 6 months

A graduate research assistant is required to support research and evaluation in the Institute for Public Safety, Crime and Justice (IPSCJ). The successful candidate will assist Researchers in the development and implementation of research and evaluation projects around health and justice, citizens in policing and vulnerable groups in Northamptonshire and beyond. This includes assisting with funding applications and literature reviews as well as qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation activities. The post is full time (37 hours per week) Monday to Friday.

 

About You

You will have successfully completed an Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, such as criminology or a related health, psychology, sociology or social science area. Knowledge of public safety, crime and justice issues and organisations involved in public safety, crime and justice as well as a strong working knowledge and experience of research methods and analysis is a distinct advantage, although not essential.

You will have good written and verbal communication, well developed time management and excellent organisation skills and a cut-through approach to completing tasks. Good IT skills, including competence in using computer programmes for data processing and analysis.

First degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. law, politics, management, criminology, human-geography or other relevant degree)

Desirable

Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. law, politics, management, criminology, human-geography or other relevant degree)
