Duties and Responsibilities
The Policy & Research Manager is a key appointment as we strengthen our research and policy work. They will develop and deliver an exciting programme of policy research and insight work to understand the views and experience of our members on key topics affecting student life, establishing the Students’ Union as a thought leader on key issues of importance to students. Through our evidence and insight, we will ensure that their needs influence decision-makers in the university, across London and nationally.
You’ll lead the team to produce high-quality reports, publications and dissemination events which put the outcomes of our research and insight programme at the centre of UCL’s decision making and also impact national policymakers. This role is based at the heart of the Union’s Policy, Governance and Insight team, working closely with our elected student leaders and Senior Management Team. No two months will be the same, and you’ll be an essential part of what we can achieve for our members in the future.
The successful applicant will be passionate about policy research and gathering insight to ensure that we truly represent the diversity of our membership. You’ll be organised and resourceful, able to operate in a fast-paced and changing environment. You’ll be analytical in your approach and a great project manager. You’ll lead and manage others to develop themselves and achieve impactful results.
