Toby Peyton-Jones was a board member of the Department for Education from 2018 to 2025 and today is a business/ educational advisor and speaker. He is also a visiting professor at Manchester Metropolitan University.
With his early career as an officer in the Army, he went on to hold a wide variety of international leadership roles at Siemens, including on the board of Siemens Plc.
Throughout, he has been an industry champion for education and skills. He was a commissioner in the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) and a founding board member for the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education, the forerunner of Skills England.
