We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join our research team on a Welsh Government funded project aimed at improving speech outcomes for very preterm born children in Wales.

As the research SLT on the project, you will will be responsible for the collection of clinical data, including assessment of speech and communication skills in Welsh and English and collecting feedback from parents and carers. You will work closely with the Chief Investigator, Research Nurse and Neonatal Team at the University Hospital of Wales. Welsh Language is highly desirable for this role.

As well as delivering the goals of this exciting research study, we want to support you to develop your own research skills and interests to enrich and enhance your clinical career.

You’ll play a key role in delivering innovative new research to improve speech outcomes for very preterm born children in Wales:

Working collaboratively as part of a highly skilled and experienced multidisciplinary clinical research team.

Bringing your extensive clinical experience into a research setting to assess child speech development and collect quantitative and qualitative research data.

Playing a critical role in generating new knowledge and evidence to improve clinical care ad outcomes for a highly vulnerable group of children.

What you’ll bring

With superb caseload management skills and extensive experience of administering and analysing specialist clinical speech assessments, you’ll be able to proactively and independently manage your time to coordinate data collection activities in collaboration with the clinical team. Your clinical expertise will ensure accurate collection, analysis and reporting of complex data.
