Deputy Chief Executive
University of Plymouth Student Union
Location: Plymouth
Listing expiry date: Oct 20, 2025
Salary range: Grade E – £49,577 to £55,786 per annum
This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside our talented students, in Britain’s Ocean City, amongst a motivated and energetic staff team.
We exist for our students, and we pride ourselves on helping students have a successful, fulfilling and rewarding life during their studies, and supporting them to prepare for the future.
In our Deputy Chief Executive, we are looking for someone who shares in our values and is committed to our ethos that places students at the centre of all we do.
Working closely with the CEO, this new role will bring together leadership and management of our delivery teams and will support our elected student leaders to deliver shared priorities.
You will have relevant management experience with the ability to provide strong and inspirational leadership; support and empower our elected officers; and help us build on our successes.
This is a fulfilling and rewarding role, building a connected community and helping shape the lives of existing and future students so they get the most of their time while studying and learning at the University of Plymouth.
As an ambassador for the UPSU, you must have highly effective interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation and with its stakeholders.
Confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job. However, there’s no such thing as a ‘perfect’ candidate. UPSU is a place where everyone can grow.
If you feel you have the right approach and experience relevant to this role and would welcome playing a significant part in our future development, then we would love to hear from you.
