Do you enjoy analysing complex data to uncover meaningful insights and communicate them effectively? Do you have an interest in education and education policy? Do you enjoy a busy and varied workload? If so we have an exciting opportunity for two-full-time Senior Planning and Insight Analysts to join our team.

As part of Imperial’s Learning and Teaching Strategy and the Imperial Class of 2030, we are appointing two Senior Planning and Insight Analysts within the Planning and Insight Division. Alongside the Education Evaluation Manager, you will support evaluation of the Learning and Teaching Strategy, including the Imperial student experience, and our Access and Participation Plan (APP). You will contribute to data and policy work relating to students and education (e.g. student surveys, APP and Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)). You will produce performance measures on participation and attainment gaps and support education evaluation activities. This will support Imperial in improving access, success and progression of students from underrepresented groups and disadvantaged backgrounds.

What you would be doing:

As one of three Senior Planning and Insight Analysts working with the Education Evaluation Manager to:

• Design and maintain reports and PowerBI dashboards to provide Imperial, Faculty, Department and programme level data on key education performance measures;

• Provide analysis of internal and external data and communicate these in briefing notes/papers/presentations;

• Prepare papers for Imperial’s senior committees on key education performance measures, summarising findings and recommendations;

• Support development, monitoring and evaluation of Imperial’s APP, including preparation of the annual report;

• Support preparation of Imperial’s TEF submissions, with expert understanding of operational details and metrics;

• Analyse student survey outcomes (e.g. NSS), prepare dashboards and disseminate findings (e.g. papers and presentations);

• Prepare briefings and analyses.

What we are looking for:

• Experience analysing complex datasets and summarising themes, including in written documents, with the ability to interpret and explain complicated information and data

• Knowledge of the principal data sources used in Higher Education, particularly related to the student lifecycle

• High degree of computer competency, including spreadsheets

• Experience of data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI)

• Excellent report writing and presentation skills

• Accuracy and attention to detail in written and analytical work

• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills

• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines on multiple tasks concurrently

• Ability to work flexibly, scoping work from broad briefs and adapting to changing direction

• Ability to work on own initiative

• Able to demonstrate knowledge and interest in the Higher Education sector

What we can offer you:

• The opportunity to continue your career at a world-leading institution, with access to an excellent professional development programme

• Sector-leading salary and remuneration package (including 39 days off a year)
