Oxford Brookes University is looking to recruit an experienced, reliable and highly motivated Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to undertake data processing and analysis on behalf of the Study Higher Team. Overall Purpose of the post of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer:

Oxford Brookes University is the Lead Institution for the Uni Connect programme covering Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Swindon. Funded by the Office for Students (OfS), the partnership is part of a nationwide programme that aims to provide programmes of collaborative outreach in specific, local areas where higher education participation is low overall and lower than would be expected with the intention of boosting participation rates in Higher Education by young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.

This post has been created to support the evaluation of learners’ experiences and attitudes from data gathered during Study Higher outreach activities. The post-holder will be responsible for overseeing the collection, processing, storage and cleaning of student data. You will support the Head of Study Higher and Study Higher’s external evaluators with analysis and evaluation of activity data, and participate in the ongoing development and implementation of evaluation materials and approaches that enable the team and other colleagues to carry out relevant monitoring and evaluation of their own areas.

Qualifications and Experience for the post Monitoring and Evaluation Officer:

This role offers a chance assess the impacts of different kinds of outreach activity and to directly influence the types of programmes delivered by Study Higher and across the national Uni Connect programme to best impact young people from backgrounds currently underrepresented in higher education. We want to hear from candidates with a strong background in analysing data and working with spreadsheets, as well as experience of programme and/or activity monitoring against pre-determined KPIs and objectives, and reporting against these. The role holder will effectively communicate across all Study Higher members and partner institutions, support delivery staff with the development and creation of data capture methods, and occasionally support at events. Working with the Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, you will use analysis to understand what works best in Widening Participation and develop resources which support consortia in-house evaluation and monitoring of Uni Connect activity, including creating Theory of Change models and evaluation plans and processes. This role also requires the overseeing of data protection and compliance processes.
