Helen Goulden is Chief Executive Officer of The Young Foundation – the UK’s home for community research and social innovation – since October 2017.

Helen was previously an executive director at Nesta, and was responsible for leading their Innovation Lab, supporting and scaling innovation in the arts, civil society, government and education sectors. Previous roles included work within the private sector, developing digital strategies and solutions for global corporate clients. She spent five years consulting in the Cabinet Office, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, and then DCLG, developing national innovation programmes for local government and leading research and product development for interactive TV public services.

She regularly speaks in the UK and abroad on the subject of public and social innovation, and has a long-standing interest in how technology can be used as a tool for social change and co-operation.

Helen is a former board member of the Behavioural Insights Team (aka the Nudge Unit) and holds degrees in philosophy and responsible business practice.
