The Purpose of the Role:

Providing professional programme management to support successful delivery of the University’s Digital Transformation Programme.
Background
This is a fantastic opportunity to drive the implementation of one of the most important strategic programmes that the University of Nottingham has ever delivered.

The University has developed a new digital strategy which aims to transform our digital infrastructure across all major streams of the University’s business including learning and teaching; engagement; research; intelligence and core services. This complex transformation programme will touch all parts of the University’s endeavour and requires the highest level of professional planning and co-ordination to ensure that we achieve the fundamental changes required to operate as a successful digital university in the 21st century.

Although the outline of the programme and headline investments have been agreed, the Senior Programme Manager will assume their role at the ideal time to lead the development of the detailed implementation plans and business cases.
This programme has the full support and engagement of the University’s Council and Executive Board.

 

Main Responsibilities 

Plan and execute the implementation Take overall accountability for planning the implementation of the digital strategy:

Identify and plan the work streams and projects required to implement the agreed strategy (with major input from appropriate stakeholders and building on existing plans)

Ensure that critical success factors, KPIs and any other associated benefit measures are identified, tracked and realized

Maintain the overall coherence of the plan, co-ordinating the various work streams and handle interdependencies

Manage the plan day to day liaising with the individual business and project leads

Be the agent of the Programme Director for successful delivery

Proactively monitor progress, resolve difficulties and take corrective action  Report progress in a transparent way

 

Manage risk and resolve problems

Manage and mitigate risks and issues escalating to the Programme Director and Programme Board members as necessary

Report progress to, and take advice from, the SRO and Programme Board members at regular, frequent intervals

 

Support and sustain the governance arrangements

Act as the key conduit for information flow to and from programme governance groups

Prepare and deliver communications to wider governance groups such as the University Executive Board, Council and Audit and Risk Committee.
