Senior Policy Adviser

£40,000 – £45,000 + Benefits

The Royal Society is the independent scientific academy of the UK and the Commonwealth and our aim is to recognise, promote and support excellence in science, and to encourage the development and use of science for the benefit of humanity. The Society’s fellows has played a part in some of the most fundamental, significant and life-changing discoveries in scientific history and Royal Society scientists continue to make outstanding contributions to science in many research ideas.

Providing scientific advice to shape policy is one of our strategic priorities, and in recent years we have produced authoritative advice across a broad spectrum of issues. We have at least one role in our education team which provides evidence to help science and maths education equip young people to prosper. Other teams include resilience (developing solutions to energy, climate change and physical environment hazards) or research (shaping the research and innovation landscape to promote economic, cultural and social wellbeing). It is common to work with other teams on specific projects.
