Lily Freeman-Jones is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the ERC-funded project ‘Textuality and Diversity: A Literary History of Europe in the World, 1529-1683′ in the School of the Arts at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). Her research is focused on the sense of touch and constructions of race in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century performance culture in Europe, especially women’s roles as singers, makers, and organisers of court performance. She was the Postgraduate Engagement Assistant at Queen Mary Students’ Union for 2023/2024, during the 4th year of her PhD in the School of English and Drama at QMUL.
