Keeping the learning real
An integrated approach to academic integrity in the age of AI
Institutions are moving from detecting AI misconduct to supporting students to use AI well, through pedagogy and assessment design. The report maps five areas of practice – AI literacy, closed and open assessment, validating learning, and a culture of openness – that together make academic integrity coherent, and trusted by students.
Based on a review of current guidance and practice, two round tables with senior leaders and professional bodies, and one with student representatives, September 2026.
