John Senior is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) at the University of Hertfordshire. In this capacity he leads University research, chairs the University Research Committee and has overall responsibility for the Doctoral College and postgraduate research students in the Institution. Between 2003 and 2006 John was University Director of Enterprise and Knowledge Transfer and Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences. He has an international research profile in the field of optical fibre communications and networking.
