Garbhan Downey is a publisher and, along with Conal McFeely and Diane Greer, a founder member of the Derry University Group. The group was established in 2013 to develop a lasting legacy from Derry-Londonderry’s City of Culture year. A former newspaper editor and BBC news producer, Downey has worked as contributing editor on a number of histories of  Derry, including, “City of Music: Derry’s Music Heritage”, “Feast or Famine: A Cultural Food Journey of the North West”, and “2013 – A LegenDerry Year”.
