Dr Benedict Wilkinson is a Senior Research Fellow in the Policy Institute at King’s. Upon completing his PhD at King’s College London, he joined the Policy Institute first as a Research Associate (2013), and then Research Fellow (2014), before being appointed as a Senior Research Fellow in 2015. Although he specialises in defence, security and foreign policy, he also works on a raise of public policy issues including Higher Education. He has recently contributed to a range of projects exploring policy challenges including The Characteristics of High Performing Research Units, UK Election 2015: Setting the Agenda, Issues and Ideas on Higher Education: Who Benefits? Who Pays?.

    Will the TEF, OfS, and changes to regulation proposed by the government’s HE White paper put privatisation back on the agenda? It might make sense for some institutions may begin considering it once again.
