Alexandra Freeman became Executive Director of the Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication at the University of Cambridge after 17 years as a documentary-maker. She created octopus.ac, a platform for scholarly publishing funded by the government’s research funder UKRI, as a way of improving the way research is communicated and the research culture.
