The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) says budget cuts will put a number of courses at risk.

Proposed savings of nearly a third “threaten to undermine Welsh government priorities for securing economic growth and the provision of public services, including health care, in Wales”, claimed HEFCW.

Universities Wales has previously said it is “seriously concerned” at cuts which are “not sustainable for the sector”. The total Welsh HE budget cuts since 2010-11 are around £365m.
