Richard Jones

Professor of Materials Physics and Innovation Policy at the University of Manchester. He was previously Professor of Physics at the University of Sheffield, where he was also Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation from 2009 to 2016.  He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2006, and is a member of the independent Industrial Strategy Commission, which published a major report in November 2017. He’s chair of Research England’s Technical Advisory Group for the Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF).
