This is one of five Vice-President and Head of Faculty roles in the University, reporting to the Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor. The role sits on the University Executive Board (UEB), chaired by the President and Vice-Chancellor, and comprising the Provost and Deputy Vice- Chancellor, four other Vice-Presidents and Heads of Faculty, three cross-cutting Vice-Presidents (Research, Innovation and Education), the Chief Financial Officer, the Chief Operating Officer and the Director of Human Resources.

As Vice-President and Head of Faculty, you will, in collaboration with other members of UEB, work to ensure the development and delivery of the University Strategy and Vision, and through leadership of the Faculty will ensure alignment of Faculty priorities with University strategic aims.

You will have, devolved accountability for the leadership and management of success of the Faculty of Engineering. The post holder will also ensure close collaboration between the Faculty and the AMG, to strengthen our capacity for world-leading research and knowledge exchange.

Key duties include:

  • Playing a key part in the development and delivery of the University’s vision and strategic plan.
  • Leading the development and delivery of Faculty strategic priorities, ensuring alignment to the University vision and strategy.
  • As part of the University’s wider leadership team, working collaboratively to contribute to sub strategies and enabling action plans as part of the University’s vision and strategic plan.
  • Taking a visible corporate leadership role on issues assigned and agreed by the Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor.
  • Championing the University values of ambition, excellence, collaboration, inclusivity, responsibility, and transparency.
  • Representing the University at a local, national, and international level.
