We have a fantastic new opportunity for a UPP Foundation & Social Purpose Manager to help build a programme of social value across UPP Group.

Working for the Director of ESG and UPP Foundation, this role will run programmes across the UPP Foundation and UPP Group which will use the power of employment and volunteering to transform the lives of some of the most disadvantaged people in society.

For the Foundation you will work in partnership with UPP and external stakeholders to provide support and development opportunities forgrant recipients and the wider higher education sector. This will include creating a networking and best practice programme between charities, universities and the wider sector to share learning and provide access to expertise.

For the wider UPP Group, you will deliver an impactful and sector-leading social purpose programme.

You will work with charities and social enterprises to establish a scheme to support disadvantaged groups into employment at UPP, while effectively demonstrating the impact of the full social programme. This will include working with the Social Value Portal as well as having the responsibility for collecting ESG data and communicating our social value.

This role will also support teams across UPP Foundation, UPP and our fundraising committee, UPP Gives, to build and deliver mentoring and volunteering schemes, offering resource to organisations delivering amazing projects with local communities and disadvantaged students.

We are looking for you to ideally have worked in one or more of the following sectors or roles:

  • Higher education – policy or communications/strategy for a university or sector body
  • Running and communicating a social value programme for a business
  • Charity – in grant making, fundraising, volunteering, policy or communications

You will be passionate with the confidence to influence key stakeholders to drive the programme forward, as well as:

  • Good project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and ability to present confidently
  • Good understanding of the latest Social Value drivers, policies and delivery mechanisms
  • Ability to build strong internal and external networks
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Solid administration and IT skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, outlook
  • Innovative and Creative

This hybrid role is based in our award-winning offices near London Bridge, Cannon Street and Monument stations.
