The Post

The Student Focus Coordinator post is jointly responsible for supporting, developing and coordinating the Course Representative system. In November 2021 we launched our brand new Student Outcomes Project, part of which is designed to expand our rep support, which is now providing our volunteers with more training and skills development opportunities than we have ever delivered before. The successful applicant will develop inspirational training to support elected student representatives. In addition to supporting this the postholder will be responsible for helping to interpret student feedback and write reports to influence Union work and the work of our key partners. As part of the Student Focus team, you will ensure that the student voice has an influence both within the University and the Union. The postholder will also be required to provide ad-hoc additional support for our Elected Officer leadership team through manifesto development and campaign planning.

The Person

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, inspirational individual who is passionate about delivering an excellent student centred service. The post-holder will have experience of leading and managing projects and supporting, motivating and training people. They will also have experience of developing and increasing participation and will demonstrate the skills necessary to develop new initiatives and deliver training programmes that inspire participants. In addition, the post-holder will have excellent communication skills, an understanding of best practice in supporting Union representatives, the skills to undertake and present research, analyse data and have the ability to handle competing priorities. An understanding of the complex issues faced by students in a Higher Education setting is essential.
