The Academic Development and Quality Assurance Department is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of academic policies and procedures across the BIMM Group through the academic committee structure.  The team provides support for the eight colleges for all activities pertaining to academic development, learning and teaching enhancement and quality assurance and manages the relationships with BIMM Institute’s University partners.

Person Specification

You will be an experienced, highly motivated professional with a background in educational administration. You will be primarily responsible for supporting the Academic Registrar in the implementation of the BIMM Group’s Quality Assurance framework across all BIMM Group colleges and supporting the annual review cycle and programme of academic development activities.  You will support Academic Director & Provost in preparations for all quality assurance engagements by external agencies, and support BIMM College teams in preparations for validations and reviews by University partners.

You must be a team player who is used to working to tight deadlines and to ensuring that staff and students alike are able to meet exacting standards of educational excellence, and reports directly to the Academic Registrar.

Essential Criteria for Applicant

  • Qualified to undergraduate degree level.
  • At least two years’ experience in an educational administrative role including committee servicing.
  • Previous experience of quality assurance systems and procedures, preferably in higher education.
  • Excellent writing, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience of planning, prioritising and organising own work or resources, managing multiple deadlines and working autonomously.
  • Experience of establishing working relationships with a wide range of people and external bodies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain work of high quality.
  • Analytical skills and a systematic approach to work, experience of using data, metrics and other information in support of defined tasks.

Desirable Criteria for Applicant

  • Willingness to work beyond office hours on occasions when required.
  • Willingness to travel to partner organisations both within the UK and internationally.
