We are looking for a highly effective and motivated individual to play a key role in helping The Open University to develop and support a strategic approach to engage with and secure opportunities that emerge from the Government’s new Industrial Strategy.

A priority initiative for the University is the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF), alongside other national and regional initiatives Key to the success of this role is the strong working relationships you will build with academic and professional services colleagues across our Faculties. You will facilitate the coordination of institutional expertise and capability in priority areas, to build internal and external collaborations which position the University to succeed in securing participation and funding through Industrial Strategy opportunities.

This is a diverse and challenging role offers the opportunity to work closely with industry, government organisations, such as the newly-formed UK Research & Innovation as well as Open University researchers and Faculties, and collaborators from partner universities.

You will require experience of engaging with academics or commercial organizations in connection with enterprise and knowledge exchange activities. You will also have practical experience of supporting and coordinating the submission of proposals to research and development or knowledge exchange schemes.

You will need to demonstrate initiative and the capability to work independently and be a confident communicator who can engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in promoting our innovation engagement programmes.
