Job Purpose

At the heart of Bristol’s success is it’s people and an outstanding opportunity has become available for a new HR Director to lead the University’s people strategy.

Job Description
Responsible for over 100 HR staff and an annual budget of £6.5m the role of the HR Director is to lead the Human Resources Division in providing a high-quality service across the full range of HR functional responsibility, providing strategic human resources leadership and expertise to deliver the relevant elements of the University Strategy, and providing HR advice and guidance as required.  The HR Director will also act as a member of the University’s senior team contributing to the development of institutional strategies, policies and identification of priorities.

You will be a proven HR leader with significant experience of leading and delivering HR services across a range of large and complex organisations.  You will be a skilful communicator with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels as well as having the leadership and management skills required to direct the HR function.  Knowledge and/or experience of the Higher Education sector would be an advantage but is not essential.
