Writtle University College is one of the oldest specialist institutions in the UK, with a history that spans over 125 years. Established in 1893, we continue to offer a range of Land-based, Design, Animal Science, Equine and Sports courses at our beautiful 220 hectare estate. We are located just 2 miles from the city of Chelmsford and around 35 minutes from London.

We are seeking to appoint to the role of Head of Quality (HE). We have a highly experienced Higher Education team, experts in their chosen fields, who deliver strong outcomes across our provision.  We are looking for a skilled individual in quality assurance and improvement to lead the WUC Quality team, inspire confidence, and enhance the student experience.

The key responsibility of this role is to provide efficient and effective leadership and management of the University College quality assurance systems for HE and to work closely with senior management and the Heads of Schools in promoting a culture of continuous improvement in support of the University College’s strategic and operational objectives.

Reporting directly to the Registrar and Secretary, the role holder will be responsible for quality assurance arrangements relating to design, development, validation and continuous enhancement of WUC’s subject areas and course modules, along with policies, processes and procedures ensuring that the University College practices align to the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and Office for Students (OfS) expectations. The role holder will also manage a team responsible for a range of quality and course administration processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proficient quality leader/manager to play a key role in ensuring the quality of the student experience within higher education, continuing to raise standards, and enhancing further the University College’s reputation for high-quality specialist education.

To succeed in your application it is essential that you have a proven track record of managing and leading on quality within a higher education institution, have comprehensive knowledge of HE regulatory and quality assurance requirements, and are educated to a minimum of degree level.
