Newcastle University Business School is seeking an exceptional, motivated and experienced individual to lead our professional service functions. The postholder will work alongside and in partnership with the School Director, School Executive, and senior professional services management team to achieve outcomes set out in our ambitious School Vision and Strategy. Following a recent professional services review and reorganisation, there has been significant additional staff resource invested in the School. The postholder will be joining the School at an exciting time, responsible for implementing and embedding review outcomes and change, and inspiring and leading staff within the new structure.

As a member of the School Executive and senior leadership team, you will be responsible for fostering excellent service delivery and creating a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for contributing to the implementation of the School strategies and sub-strategies, joining up with the delivery of University strategy. The post holder will be a visible role model, demonstrating the highest standards of leadership and behaviour, and effectively leading change.

Successful candidates will have demonstrable experience of effective and successful leadership and management, with understanding and experience of the complexities and challenges of a leadership role in Higher Education. You will be action-orientated and a creative problem solver, with the ability to engage and communicate effectively, provide clear direction and prioritise and plan within a strategic framework. You will be resilient, with the ability to deal with complex problems, issues and decision making, and manage conflicting priorities.

The role will entail working with the School Director, Business School professional services and academic community on a day to day basis, but will have professional accountability to the Director of Faculty Operations, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
