Head of Data and Insight

Expires

2nd December 2021

The Strategic Planning team is developing its role within the University to better inform and facilitate the development of strategies, plans and targets in an ever-challenging sector environment. This role is an exciting opportunity to play a leading part in that change.

The Head of Data and Insight is a high-profile role, university-wide in reach, and will require high-level engagement and influencing skills as well as a tenacious but pragmatic and flexible approach.

Bringing your knowledge and experience of good practice to bear, you will implement complex change in the university’s approach to data – its governance, its reporting and its use.

Your broad experience of delivering business intelligence and undertaking complex data analysis will provide the basis for refreshing our current services. To be successful, you will need the ability to develop and mentor your team to work within the culture of the University, to interpret the requirements of the service, secure broad engagement with it, and ensure a customer/ user-focussed approach is embedded in our reporting.

You will also play a pivotal role in designing the implementation plan for a new University Data Strategy, and applied knowledge and experience of good practice in Data Governance is key. Broad knowledge and experience with regard to data integration and reporting tools will also be highly valuable.

Cardiff University is moving to a blended working environment so we anticipate a mix of in-person and remote practice. Salary will be dependent on experience.
