Finance Business Partner (Research Assurance)

The University is looking to appoint a Finance Business Partner (Research Assurance) to undertake the development of risk management processes, funding terms compliance, management information reporting and systems in relation to the University’s research activity. The post holder will work closely with the Research and Enterprise Development team in all these activities.

This is a pivotal role to the financial management of the University research activity. The University undertakes c£150m of research activity per annum and failure to accurately cost and manage research application bids could result in significant financial loss to the institution.

You will be responsible for ensuring that risk management procedures and systems are in place to ensure compliance with grant funding terms. This will include reviewing and managing the overall financial risk as well as managing the programme of grant audits. Previous experience of auditing and risk assurance is essential as well as the ability to manage a range of stakeholders at all levels. Experience or understanding of the Higher Education environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
