The Director of Research and Innovation will work to engage industry and academics alike to support areas for partnership.

The Director of Research and Innovation is a key appointment at the University of Nottingham. This is a significant and challenging role, covering seven units within Research and Innovation including the Asia Business Centre, IP Commercialisation, and Corporate Partnerships. Working closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research), Professor Jessica Corner and reporting into the Chief Financial Officer, Margaret Monckton, you will be responsible for supporting the University’s research, impact and business engagement strategy for the next era. You will be a well-qualified, intellectually strong, proven senior leader with a strong track record of leading and building consensus across a large team. You will have the drive and determination to identify and secure significant research funding and strategic business engagements. You will be familiar with REF and REF planning as you will be integral to Nottingham’s REF 2021 submission.

An executive search exercise is being undertaken by Perrett Laver who will support the University in identifying the widest possible field of qualified candidates and assist in their assessment against the requirements for the role.
