The Director of Library Services and University Arts Strategy will lead the entire Library and Arts agenda providing strategic leadership to ensure the University of Southampton remains at the vanguard of the higher education sector. This is a key role and the Director will identify, develop and implement successful innovations at the strategic level to make a measurable impact to the lives of students and academics at the University.

The Director of Library Services and University Arts Strategy will ensure the Library delivers an innovative service in support of the strategic objectives and business priorities of a research-led, multi-disciplinary University community. It will be essential that the development of the Arts is integrated within the core mission across the full spectrum of arts through all Library and Arts venues. The Director will work closely with peers across the Student Experience directorate to ensure cohesive collaborative working.

You will have a track record of shaping and delivering strategy within a research library or similar organisation at a senior level. An extensive knowledge of UK higher education and the key issues facing research libraries in the areas of research and learning and teaching provision will be essential. You will be an inspirational leader and experienced budget manager with the ability to motivate and lead teams through a changing and increasingly digitally influenced landscape.
