Are you an outstanding development leader with the expertise and drive to advance the philanthropic ambitions of the world-leading University of Birmingham? We’re looking for an exceptional Director of Development and Alumni Relations with the personal gravitas and credibility to raise funds to address the most pressing global challenges facing the next generation. As we launch our second University-wide fundraising and volunteering campaign, this opportunity is one of the most exciting development roles in UK higher education.

You will work closely with our Vice-Chancellor, alumni, academic and wider communities to enhance our engagement with supporters, partners and donors. You will also lead a highly respected and professional team and will contribute to the wider University leadership.

Passionate about our values and mission, you will have a successful track record of building effective, long-term, high-value philanthropic relationships. You will bring fundraising campaign experience to help you succeed in this hugely rewarding role.

You will become part of a University that has a long and proud history of innovation and discovery. Ranked in the top 100 universities globally and the top 20 in the UK, Birmingham is home to 11 Nobel Laureates, was the first university to establish a fully comprehensive secondary school, and opened a new campus in Dubai in 2018. You will join a community which thrives on shared ambition, celebrates world-leading academic strengths, encourages bold, independent thinking and contributes significantly to the civic life of the city of Birmingham and wider region.
