£75,055 to £83,394 per annum

This is a key role for Research England (RE) working UKRI wide and involving a high degree of strategic understanding, external visibility and autonomous working. As well as having overall responsibility for RE’s Insight and Engagement functions, this role provides strategic leadership on emerging issues relating to RE’s role and relationships, responding to risks and opportunities to ensure that RE is well-placed in a changing policy and funding environment.

Acting as an ambassador for Research England in the higher education sector and with partner organisations, you will lead on institutional and other stakeholder engagement, working with relevant funders and regulators across the UK, building insight and knowledge that shapes strategic narratives across RE. As a member of the Research England Executive Group work alongside the Directors of Research and Knowledge Exchange to ensure universities deliver on the outcomes of RE’s strategy.

You will need:

• To be a Graduate or have equivalent qualifications

• In depth knowledge and understanding of the UK research and higher education policy environment, including experience in research or knowledge exchange policy

• Ability to manage multiple teams across a variety of professional groups

• Proven experience of creating and leading strategic engagement across multiple partners, along with a diverse stakeholder base
