Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor Academic Planning

Expires

8th October 2020

About the role

We are looking for a deputy across the wide range of Academic Planning functions, with an early focus on Registry functions where we have a clear agenda for change and service development. We need someone with experience of these services and the ambition to design a student-friendly, effective set of services while maintaining continuity of delivery.  The successful candidate will be highly effective, people-focussed, with a clear track record of change management.

About us

Bath Spa University is focussed on creative enterprise and guided by our four values of respect, inclusivity, collaboration and sustainability. We teach around 8,000 students on a set of campuses around Bath, with most being located at Newton Park, including a listed Georgian house and grounds, or Locksbrook Road, our new city-centre art and design campus.  Our research centres focus on creative industries and humanities.

Our purpose is to challenge our students and staff to realise their talent and thrive, for their own benefit and for the wider good. By doing this we will think and make the world better.

We have come together with ambition, drive and teamwork over the last two years and now boast one of the strongest senior teams in the sector.  We are looking to strengthen this team with two outstanding appointments.  Each is designed to offer a transition from management into a strategic leadership role, and the appointees will be mentored and helped to move across this boundary, while performing across both domains.

For an informal discussion regarding this post, please contact Dr Mark McGuinness, PVC Academic Planning: M.McGuinness@bathspa.ac.uk

We are looking for two resilient, innovative, clever and practical people who will enhance our team and bring humour and capability to the impossible demands of modern higher education.
