4th November 2021

We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic candidate into the role of Curriculum Review and Enhancement Manager.

The Role

The Curriculum Review and Enhancement Manager oversees a small team, delivering effective and efficient key institutional quality processes. This includes our primary institutional monitoring process, Education Annual Review (EAR) and our Internal Student Survey (ISS).

The EAR process run three times a year, with a focus on our undergraduate, postgraduate and apprenticeship provision. During each EAR we will present a range of quantitative and qualitative information that enables the panel to engage in a data-lead contextualised conversation with each academic department, exploring good practice and setting actions to address areas for improvement. The Curriculum Review and Enhancement Manager will work with colleagues across the University in scheduling the meetings, organising the data, ensuring it is robust, statistically relevant and work with their team to produce additional information, such as analysis of student comments and unit-level engagement and performance data.

The ISS will run either two or three times a year, with 2021/22 being seen as a restart in how we approach the survey. The Curriculum Review and Enhancement Manager will work with their team and other key stakeholders to ensure that the survey is set up correctly, that we produce accurate analysis of student comments, with the outputs being shared widely, and that the ISS continues to be part of our institutional discourse about the student experience.

The Team

There are three Education Services Officers within the Curriculum Review and Enhancement Team. The Curriculum Review and Enhancement Team sits alongside the Curriculum Approval and Curriculum Data teams, within Curriculum Services. We work closely with our colleagues in the wider Education Services Directorate on cross-thematic agendas and support key institutional priorities, such as clearing, enrolment and graduation.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is knowledgeable and has a developed understanding in the importance of data-lead institutional monitoring processes and can effectively contribute to discussion on the performance of higher education provision;
  • Has the ability and confidence to write formal reports on the outcomes of the ISS and EAR process and present them at high-level institutional committees;
  • Has a passion, ability and experience in delivering high levels of stakeholder engagement and effective communication; and
  • Feels comfortable taking ownership of and resolving complex queries, whilst working collaboratively with other colleagues to progress and resolve them.
